Kite fishing is nothing new to the Reel Candy Team. Although the Chinese claims credit for using kites to catch fish centuries ago, the Reel Candy has been using kites in pursuit of sailfish for over 15 years in Jupiter, Stuart, and the Gulf of Mexico, beginning with the legendary Bob Lewis in Marathon, Florida. Since then we have caught numerous sailfish, mahi (dolphin), sharks, kingfish, wahoo, tunas, jacks, just to name a few species.

We use Kristal Electric kite reels courtesy of Bluewater Power Reels. Our kites consist of several different styles depending on the wind conditions. Carefully handled live bait is either caught by our clients or purchased from one of the local vendors.
