Daytime Swordfishing

Daytime sword fishing can be an experience of a lifetime. Although you maybe fishing all day for that one bite it could be a 400 pound monster or you can enjoy a day like we had yesterday catching 3 out of 5 bites. We tagged the other 2 fish but kept this one for some mouthwatering meals. The Reel Candy Team can keep you entertained!

September 2018

We are still experiencing some good kingfish angling along with a few mahi mahi.  As hurricane Florence battered the Carolina Coast we were trying to get a couple days of fishing on the Reel Candy. Usually Florida is making hurricane preparations.  We sincerely hope for the best and pray for those hit so hard in North and South Carolina. Let’s remember those who need assistance in the aftermath. The fishing this week has been good in Palm Beach and Jupiter. With the mullet showing up, the sailfish are getting close.

Joe and his wife joined us Sunday for a few hours catching blackfin tuna. Just prior to heading for the dock, we decided to make one drop hoping for a shark hookup when this Amberjack took an entire bait. Joe fought his fish hard to the boat. The Amberjack turned out to be the largest one weighed so far this season at Sailfish Marina. Join the Reel Candy Team for some fun charter fishing, and let’s add your name with Joe’s on the Big Fish Board at Sailfish Marina. Call us now 561-797-9769.

Sharkfishing Week

This has been a great week shark fishing with female anglers joining the Reel Candy Team. Congratulations goes out to Roxie, who at 59,  had a shark on her bucket list, with a short window to “get it done”. Roxie did an awesome job in the fighting chair and was able to subdue and release her catch to be caught another day. All sharks are released on the Reel Candy charter boats. Another shark pushing the 300 pound mark was caught by a 13 year old from Missouri.Sharkfishing Week

Full Blood Moon Wahoo

This past weekend created some great memories for some great anglers on the Reel Candy & Sea Candy. The July “Blood Moon” as it’s called has always produced good wahoo. The anticipation for the August moon hopefully is just as productive. Join us as we conclude our 2018 successful summer.

The Sailfish are still HERE

The sail fishing has been the best it’s been in several years. The cold weather fronts have provided our anglers with some exciting times. Many have caught their very first sail, and all have taken home memories of an exciting time. Call us and book your charter from the world famous Sailfish Marina.

Summertime Fishing At It’s Best – Bonita Bonanza

This past week has produced some epic fishing adventures on the Reel Candy. Fishing almost everyday our anglers have enjoyed a mix bag of species. Along with all the bonita and sharks, our guests last week landed 3 out of 5 sailfish, several blackfin tunas, a nice wahoo, a few mahi up to 20 pounds, and jumped off a blue marlin. Plus some awesome snook on an inshore trip.

Not a bad week fishing!

Our Bonita Bonanza Reel Candy Boat Tournament has yielded almost 75 anglers. The largest Bonita for this month was 18.2 pounds caught by Ric Stern. Ric will receive a Tee Shirt from Gray Taxidermy and will be entered in next months totals for the Grand Prize of $1000. The top five places will receive prizes from our sponsors,

Ande Line Co., Black Bart Lures, Gray Taxidermy, and Stingray Outfitters.

Springtime Fishing is Here

This has been a good week on the Reel Candy after sitting for several days waiting for the wind to settle. A few mahi has shown up. The sailfish are still here, and it’s always a bonus to harvest a wahoo for a hungry angler on their first charter. The monster kings will be showing up soon although the king we are catching now are respectable. Book now on the Reel Candy and Reel Candy II.IMG_5131IMG_0592IMG_0591IMG_0593

They are here! Sailfish & Mahi

Natalie from Dallas, Texas, decided she wanted to catch a sailfish while in Palm Beach. Joining the Reel Candy for an afternoon we only had a short time available to fill her wish. Within an hour we had two sailfish come up on the kite baits. After catching the one, she grabbed the other rod and began fighting the second fish. Natalie was able to obtain the release on both fish, and returned to the dock to meet her family.

Today anglers braving the rough seas enjoyed a good sailfish bite. There were several gaffer mahi caught, hopefully giving anglers some upcoming fun.

Join the Reel Candy team, now fishing from Sailfish Marina for the winter season

Kite Fishing for Sailfish

Since hurricane Matthew, the wind has been relentless. The Reel Candy, has been docked at Sailfish Marina on Singer Island in Palm Beach. This allows us to avoid the dangerous Jupiter Inlet conditions, and provides us maximum opportunities to fish those questionable days that we would normally cancel in Jupiter. The last two weeks the mahi bite has been real good with most fish in the 8-10 pound range. Most of these fish have been caught trolling small lures or sea witches on bait. The sailfish are arriving with this weeks fishing trips providing our anglers with multiple hookups on each charter. Kite fishing has been our preferred method with as many as 4 sailfish bites at one time. The Reel Candy makes every effort to promote the well being of the billfish population. We handle each caught fish carefully, and tag as many fish as possible for the Billfish Foundation. Although we understand every angler would like to have a picture with their catch holding their prized fish. We can only do this when the ideal conditions present themselves for a healthy released fish. Tagging does not interfere with the longevity of a billfish lifespan.

The Reel Candy Team is already booked for two Sailfish tournaments for 2016 – 2017. We limit the number of tournament entries in order to have sufficient dates available for our anglers that just want to enjoy a day on the water. “There’s more to Reel Candy than just Fishing”.
